Happy Easter and New Hope for Ukrainian Kids
Easter, known as the “Velykden” (The Great Day) is one of the most important holidays in Ukraine. In the Christian religion, it celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and, in a cultural sense, it symbolizes hope for the new beginning and joy in welcoming a bright future. It is a kind and cheerful holiday, spent among the family, honoring traditions and ancestors.
This year, on Velykden, our thoughts are with kids whose families are on the frontlines. So many of them were teachers, doctors, artists, scientists, cooks, and simply – parents to their children – on February 24th 2022. This year, their kids will be spending this special day without their moms and dads who are fighting to defend their country and their future, and some of whom will not be coming home, having given their lives in this fight.
We cannot take away the children’s loss, but we can strive to lessen their anguish and try, even in a small, simple way, to bring a little joy and sunshine back into their lives.
We are teaming with our partners – volunteers originally from Zaporizhzhya, Mariupol, Kharkiv, Kherson, Khmelnitsky and other parts in Ukraine affected by the war, who are working with thousands of kids from the frontline regions internally displaced within Ukraine.

Hot Meals for Residents of Northern Saltivka
Situated on the northern edge of Kharkiv, just 10 miles from the border with russia, and home to some 400 thousand people before the war, Northern Saltivka has been the most heavily shelled area of the city. While many residents got evacuated, those who stayed behind – mostly elderly and disabled – have been sustained by volunteers, braving daily danger to bring them food and basic necessities. With your generous support, they will continue this important work and help the vulnerable residents persevere through the winter.

Helping Pets Survive the Winter
Support Science Education for Ukrainian Childen
Ever since the Soviet times, Ukraine has been on the forefront of science. Ukrainian children are the future of the country, and their education is one of the very top concerns of the families. The war has caused an enormous disruption to learning. Supporting science education is investing in the future of Ukraine.
We have partnered with MEL Science, Earthlings Hub, UNICEF Ukraine, and Kiddo Byte Ukraine to provide over 10,000 MEL Science science kits and experiments to children in refugee camps and schools throughput the country.
These are amazingly fun, accessible and educational kits that we have used with our own children and are thrilled at an opportunity to introduce them to children in Ukraine.
After the first 10,000 kits are delivered to Ukraine, we may be able to ship at least 10,000 more, if we can secure the funding!

Chromebooks with Headsets for Children
Hundreds of children in orphanages and refugee settlements have been displaced by the war and are missing school and other learning opportunities. Worry about their children’s education is one of the very top concerns of the families in refugee settlements — this is one of very few things they can actually control. There are Ukrainian- and Russian-speaking volunteers around the world who are interested to teach the children remotely, but there are very few laptops where the children are.
We have partnered with Earthlings Hub, Kiddo Byte Ukraine, and Shield Ukraine to send Chromebooks and headsets to the orphanages and refugee centers to allow the children a chance to learn. The first shipment has made it to children!

35th separate rifle brigade has asked our fund for power banks, hygiene products and a lot of animal feed. This is the brigade that is now fighting near Bakhmut, right in the thick of things. Most of the infrastructure and housing are destroyed, so there are almost no civilians there. However, there are a large number of hungry dogs and cats running around. We handed over a batch of pet food and everything that our boys have asked for. They bravely serve to protect everyone, people and animals alike.

From the very beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war, when we started evacuating Ukrainians from danger, we felt the help of Israeli volunteers. At the Shegini-Medyk crossing, the very first tent was with Israeli volunteers. There you could rest, eat, and get help. It was the tent that had been there the longest.
We support Israel. Our condolences to all those whose family and loved ones lost their lives in the terrorist attack. A peaceful world must unite and support each other.
Analyzing the state of the population of Ukraine today, most people felt retraumatization and despair. We saw terrible pictures of violence and murder in Israel. And this is similar to what has been happening since the first days of the war in the Ukrainian cities of Irpen, Buchi, and Izyum.
It is impossible to forget and forgive.

З самого початку російсько-української війни, коли наш фонд евакуював українців з небезпечних територій, ми відчули допомогу ізраїльських волонтерів. На переході Шегіні-Медика сама перша палатка була з волонтерами Ізраїлю. Там можна було відпочити, поїсти, отримати допомогу. Це була палатка, яка знаходилась там довше всього.
Також Ізраїль активно присилав в Украіну інструкторів та допомагав.
Війна - це завжди насилля і обман.
Ми підтримуємо Ізраїль. Наші співчуття всім, чиї рідні та близькі загинули від терористичної атаки. Мирній світ має обʼєднуватись і підтримувати один одного.

On October 1st, Ukraine celebrates Defender's Day - thanking all who served and continue to serve to protect Ukraine's freedom.
URF and our daughter, Kyiv based, non-profit "We Will Win Together" planned to visit the hospital we frequently support (not disclosing the name for security concerns) with small gifts for the soldiers being treated there.
When we asked the doctors, what the boys needed most, they told us not to bring candy or pizza. The hospital is in constant need of painkillers.
We were joined by our friends at World For Ukraine and Lyudmyla Smolyanyuk and were able to buy 123 packages - enough to last the hospital 2.5 months.

На День Захисника Вітчизни вирішили ми з фондом Ukraine Rescue Fund та «Ми Переможемо Разом» привітати воїнів, які знаходяться на лікуванні та реабілітації в одній клінічній лікарні (назву не пишу, шоб вороги не знали де це).
Запитали у лікарів, що хлопцям потрібно. А нам відповіли, що дуже потрібні не цукерки та піцца, а знеболювальні ліки. Бо не вистачає тих, що є. А потреба в знеболювальних є постійна.
То ж, з UkraineRescueFund ми запланували купити кілька упаковок. Ліки достатньо дорогі. Але тут до нас приєднались друзі!
Дякуємо всім донорам, які перерахували гроші на ліки.
Далі було ще цікавіше. Про цей проект дізнався ще фонд World for Ukraine в особі Lyudmyla Smolyanyuk і перерахувли нам теж суму на знеболювальні. Таким чином, ми придбали 123 упаковки ліків і передали в клінічну лікарню. Цих знеболювальних вистачить воєнним на два з половиною місяці.
Разом з цим, були передані ще деякі ліки та бінти високої якості особисто воєнним для перемотки ран.
